Arup Teleidoscope

In response to an invited competition to create an installation for the central atrium of Arup Engineering's London headquarters, Kirkwood McLean proposed the world's largest kaleidoscope. Our intention was to amplify the natural characteristics of the atrium, itself in essence a light transmitting tube, to create a 7-storey inhabitable and ever-changing sensory experience, using only the most straightforward of materials. This simplicity was reinforced in our submission material, which only consisted of physical models, with no CGI enhancement.
